Anise Hyssop Drop Cookies

yssop is a hardy evergreen perennial that was known as a sacred plant because it was used in Biblical times to clean sacred buildings. It has dark green leaves and a strong minty taste and smell and combines well to bath oils for an invigorating bathing experience.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup anise hyssop flowers, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation:

1. Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored.

2. Add sugar and flower petals and beat 5 minutes.

3. Add vanilla.

4. Add flour, baking powder and salt to egg mixture. Continue beating 5 minutes more.

5. Drop batter by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets, spacing well apart.

6. Bake at 325F for 12 to 15 minutes.
